We have used Slabs Shack for a large family reunion and a high school graduation. The food is out of this world - people still talk about it as the best BBQ they have ever had, We have recommended Alec to family and friends for whom he has done at least 3 more BBQs. Not only is the food fabulous, but his prices are very reasonable and he does all the work so you can enjoy your guests! We highly recommend Slabs Shack.

Awesome food!! Everything from the brisket to the sides to the unbelievable BBQ'd apple crisp dessert was delicious. My guests loved it. Alec did a fantastic job from start to finish - I appreciate all he did, really going above and beyond my expectations. He took care of everything from helping to decide on the right choices and the right quantities, timing everything and even cleaning up. If you are planning a party and want your guests to eat awesome BBQ, Slabs Shack is a must get. Slabs is a small business that is up to the task. We used Slabs for a summer outdoor party with 60+ people. Slabs provided great advice during the planning stage helping us figure the menu and the quantities. We opted for brisket and pulled pork with slaw, potato salad, baked beans and greens for sides. The food was plentiful and scored top marks for quality and flavor. The meats were smoked to perfection and the three different sauces made from scratch kept us diving back in for more. The kicker was the apple crisp dessert. Everything was prepared on site with great attention to detail. Will definitely use Slabs again and highly recommend anyone planning a party or event to check them out. We were throwing a graduation party for my son and needed a caterer. Had seen Slabs in action at another party. After comparing prices and attitude we chose Slabs for ours. The event was highly successful. Succulent brisket and pork and sides to die for. Slabs cooked the meats on the premises beginning the night before. I was surprised at how many folks stopped by to see the smoking process. Slabs was happy to teach and has obvious pride in his quality. The clean up was so complete that 24 hours later it was like he was never there.
We highly recommend Slabs. Not only did we have a great bbq party, we feel like we have a new member to our family.

Alec from Slabs Shack gets a 5 out of 5 stars for their awesome BB. I am part of a non-profit organization and we had a volunteer appreciation picnic for our wonderful staff. Since I am not a good party or event planner, Slabs Shack helped make the preparation for our 25 guests go smooth. They provided food that was nothing short of a hit for my guests and took a lot off my plate so I had time for other needed party preparations. We had the pulled pork, chicken, brisket and some sides. Once the food was served all you heard from the guests
throughout the meal was how wonderful it was. My only disappointment was that any leftovers where swooped up quickly by my guests leaving me nothing for a midnight snack. If you are planning an event small or large you will not be disappointed using Alec from Slabs Shack.

Alec has catered two large family events for us over the past few years. He couples delicious food (the brisket is to die for) with incredible service. Hey Reviewers, this stuff is REAL! We enlisted the services of Alec “Slabs” Theilman for a small graduation party of about 25-30 people in late June, 2019. There was some initial uncertainty about pulling off a backyard catering from 2 ½ hours away but Mr. Theilman showed up fully prepared and the food was piping hot and ready to go. We served the brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork as well as mac & cheese, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans and cornbread. Slabs had the whole set up coordinated and even brought two special homemade BBQ sauces. Our party was a little over three weeks ago and friends are still raving about the quality of the food. We have some serious meat eaters in our circle and it was no small task to keep them grazing. After approximately 25 lbs of meat there wasn’t a morsel left nor a hungry stomach in the house. One would expect a BBQ catering service to focus on the meats but Slabs also paid special attention to the sides which only completed the culinary experience. Baked beans! Whaaat? Can that stuff and sell it! And, the potato salad?! I’ve enlisted a hit man to get the recipe. Best potato salad I ever had! AND, don’t forget the apple crisp. Order it as well then hide it for your own personal enjoyment!! All in all, an excellent BBQ experience with tremendous tastes in meat, the complete spectrum of sides, closed out with a good old American dessert. Affordable and well coordinated from set up to clean up. Pick up the phone and set Slabs to cookin’ for you! Your guests and your taste buds will love you. CCC and Irish Annie , RI .
